Adobe Systems Inc. just acquired Magento Commerce, an e-commerce services provider, for $1.68 billion. The company made the deal, which is its biggest in nearly a decade, from Permira – a private equity firm.
The Photoshop maker stated that the addition is to help bolster its Experience Cloud business, which provides analytic services. Integrating Magento Commerce with Adobe Experience Cloud into a single platform will provide marketing services to both B2B and B2C consumers globally.
Adobe is a leading giant when it comes to the design and delivery of personal and intuitive digital experiences via content and data, which consumers have come to appreciate. Commerce is an integral part for consumer experience. Consumers and businesses can now have both with every interaction becoming shoppable, be it online – web or mobile, in-store or in-product.
Magento offers Adobe Experience Cloud a digital commerce enablement and an easy order orchestration by customers for both digital and physical goods across an array of industries with a great shopping experience. This service also includes consumer packaged goods and deliveries, manufacturing, retail and wholesale.
This acquisition seems to be one of the best lucrative points for Adobe. It gives Adobe a strategy for capitalizing on the ability to market its services to Magento’s current crop of high-value merchants.
Adobe’s executive vice-president and general manager, Brad Rencher, said;

With this integration, Adobe has an essentially unlimited access to marketing and distributing. Its own customers, will be able to offer discounts, perks and advice for using its array of tools and product suites rather than on isolated aspects.
Magento Commerce was built on a proven scalable technology which was supported by a vibrant community of over 300,000 developers and stakeholders. Magento Commerce also features thousands of pre-built extensions, which includes payments, shipping, and logistics. The level of Magento Commerce’s flexibility provides business owners with the ability to quickly work up and iterate their e-commerce capabilities for the unique needs of their businesses.
Ultimately, Adobe got the opportunity to play to the high revenue stores in order to lead the market share values in every part of its customers’ needs.
